Found a Personal Trainer
May. 4th, 2009 05:13 pmDear Husband just said, "we should do this every night."
-We're watching baseball while sprawled out on the over-sized sofa with our laptops and flossing our teeth. I adore my husband.
I've been looking for a personal trainer. I went to my gym, but they were charging $50/hour and that's crazy in today's economy. There are PTs dripping off of Craigslist for half that price. I found one 15 miles away and contacted him. He's scheduled me for 5pm this Wednesday.
Now I'm nervous. He's a BIG, tough-looking 54-year-old who makes you fill in a medical consent form which prevents you or your family from suing him if he breaks or kills you.
I need the push, though. I started running again this year and in four months I've only lost 15 pounds. Yes, that's okay, but I need to do better. More strength training, more consistency, more nutritious and healthy food choices.

Thanks, Flurgh, for the complimentary code. I do like having a new journal in a new place without all the barnacles my other journals carry.

on 2009-05-04 11:13 pm (UTC)I just purchased a mag trainer kit for my bicycle and I cannot wait for it to arrive. Also since you mentioned running.. Under Armour shoes are the best things ever. I broke down and bought a pair.. and from someone with horrible feet and a screwed up leg from mountain falling.. and I hate running because of my asthma. Damn those shoes feel good to run in!

on 2009-05-05 12:12 am (UTC)Oh a word of warning about them.. no matter if you use that waterproofing spray on the shoes.. your feet WILL get wet if it's rainy or you run into a puddle. That's my only qualm about them. It makes me not feel comfortable wearing them to cycle down to the lake (not that I can do that now after all this rain took my trails away).
