New moves. Throwing the medicine ball from an extended position at the hyperextension board. Pushups! On the Bosu*! Then again with one hand off and one hand on, alternating. Then again on a medicine ball. Squats on the Bosu, extending a kettle bell. I kept falling off the Bosu on that one and I only had to go to 12. On the last one he tried to get me to hold the squat and after 5 seconds I sank slowly, despite my attempt stay upright, and fell gently on my knees. Argh. There's a Bosu at my gym- I'm going to work on that.

Next week he says we're doing cardio, so I tell him what I've been doing re: cardio. Running on the treadmill, this many minutes, this fast. Some jump roping... Just so he knows where I'm at when it comes to cardio.

"Oh," says he, "this isn't your normal cardio. This is much more intense." And he describes to me two things we'll be doing. One I can't fathom. The other thing is running with a parachute strapped to my back. He warns me to bring a banana and energy drink- that water won't be enough.

zoiks.

I. Hate. Push-ups.

I tried doing the 100 push-up thing and hated it. I decided I didn't *want* to do 100 push-ups. That, and with my fibroadenoma, it was a bit painful. Now, I want to be able to do a normal push-up and not the "ladies/from-the-knee" version. I probably should try to add a few here and there though. First, I'll let the fibro stuff go down (it flared up bad from our vacation) as well as my weight. More interested in getting the lbs back down first.

The parachute run sounds great! We were *supposed* to do a sled-pulling type exercise when throwing season was over (so much of Highland Games comes from bursts of power from the legs), but for some reason the group never did post-season training with us. The parachute thing sounds like something they'd all drool over.

Can't wait to see what this other one that you can't fathom is :O

Just wanted to let you know! I spotted one of those Bosu things at our fitness center. We have medicine balls, and the balancing ball things as well. All sorts of toys!

So far, it seems like we have everything (kettle bells, free weights, and I think I seem to recall various benches too) except the parachute and sled and anything bigger like that.

I'll find out what it takes to bring a guest -- I think it'd be fun to workout with you! I want to get acquainted with the gym a bit more and get myself in decent enough shape too.
