Back to Cardio
May. 11th, 2009 07:00 amI think I'm going to cut out the running for awhile. I'm still having that shin pain in the same place when I do run, even though it doesn't bother me at any other time. So this morning I did 28 minutes on the elliptical- hands free!... Mr. W. says it's a harder workout and really good for your core not to hold on to the bars of the machine when you're on the stair climber, elliptical, whatever. Of course I knew this intellectually, but to have someone tell me to do that- it makes a difference. Sometimes I'd kinda lose my balance, but I'd get it back- and I liked swinging my arms around. It felt more like a run.
I also did 1 minute of running- which is how I came to the conclusion in the first sentence up there. And then 8 minutes of walking at various speeds and inclines. Nothing too easy. According to my GWF that's 17 minutes of moderate activity (over 4 mets), 23 minutes of vigorous activity (over 6 mets). This pleases me. Maybe I don't HAVE to run.
