Session #2
May. 13th, 2009 09:17 amNot easier, but no queasiness and I took the time to get my breath back between exercises. By the time I was doing pushups and the last set of ab exercises, my muscles were almost depleted of strength. I tried to use my abs to lift my legs and collapsed.
"I can't!"
"um, don't tell me you can't."
And I was shamed. Of course I did it.
When I was looking for a trainer, it seemed I had to find a woman. "A woman understands you better," says the book How To Find A Personal Trainer. But I also know from experience that I try harder for men. I always made more of an effort for my male teachers, it's just the way I've alwas been. You can be as all Freud-y on my psyche as you like. There it is.
I told Mr. W. that on Saturday I was kinda amazed at how my muscles were aching at different times. That I could tell him at what time during the day which group of muscles were starting to hurt. He laughed and seemed doubtful but he said that the girl who'd had her session before me had just said the same thing to him.
The only muscles that didn't hurt over the weekend were my pecs. Today my pecs are just beginning to ache. Along with: delts, biceps, triceps, and whatever those muscles are on the outside of my legs, near my hips. Abs, quads, glutes and hamstrings are coming- the calm before the storm.
Before I left we sat and talked food. He's going to put together a food plan for me to follow that includes some smoothies recipes. I said I'd love to make some smoothies the night before for after working out in the morning but that I just never did.

This morning I did 20 minutes of moderate activity and 14 minutes of vigorous activity at Ballys.
